Located in Fengtai District, Beijing West Railway Station is 8 kilometers southwest of the Forbidden City and 36 kilometers southwest from Beijing Capital International Airport. It is the terminal for both high-speed and regular trains.

Train Vs Flight
Taking a flight from Beijing to Guilin only takes 3 hours. It is obvious a flight is much faster than a train. Sometimes a flight ticket fare is even cheaper than a second class ticket of a high-speed train for the Beijing - Guilin journey.
Taking an overnight train is the cheapest way of traveling between these two cities, and can also save you a night's hotel bill. Soft sleeper is recommended if you plan to take an overnight train.
