There are about ten regular trains between Beijing and Xian, namely T-series and Z-series trains. Z-series trains are direct trains that usually only have beds, and they make no intermediary stops or fewer stops.The distance between the two cities is about 1,200 kilometers. Z19 and Z53
These Z trains usually do not have stops on the way, but even if they do have stops, they won't take additional passengers along the way. So there isn’t any noise of boarding passengers to disturb you. In addition, the departure and arrival time is ideal, so it won't affect your tours in both cities. See Beijing to Xian train search
Z19 leaves Beijing West Station at 21:24 (9:24 pm) and arrives in Xian at 08:25 the next morning. A hard sleeper costs 255 RMB or about 39 USD and a soft sleeper costs 400 RMB or about 60 USD.
Z53 departs Beijing West Station at 21:18 and reaches Xian at 08:19. Ticket price is the same with Z19.
Recommended Overnight Train from Xian to Beijing
Z20 leaves Xian at 20:16 (8:16 pm) and arrives in Beijing West Station at 07:17.. Z54 departs Xian at 20:10 and reaches Beijing West Station at 07:28. The ticket price is the same as that of train Z19 mentioned above.
Facilities on Board
The trains are fully air-conditioned. There are four classes of accommodations on this train: soft sleepers, hard sleepers, soft seats and hard seats. The soft-sleeper cars have four-berth soft-bed cabins. Each cabin has its own TV screen. There is also a restaurant car with menus in both Chinese and English and a bar.
